About Your Course
Awarded by the Institute of Acoustics, this diploma aims to equip you with a thorough understanding of the nature of noise and of ways in which it can be controlled in the environment, the workplace and in buildings. You will have access to our fully equipped state-of-the-art laboratory, with its anechoic and reverberation chambers and modern noise analysis equipment.

Extending over 12 months, this course is taught through lectures, laboratory classes and via our web-based Virtual Learning Environment. There is an emphasis on relating the theory of acoustics to the solution of practical noise problems.

Our work on practical acoustics issues with our consultancy service will keep you up-to-date with current developments in the building and manufacturing sectors. We also enjoy very close links with local authority employers due to our BSc and MSc courses in Environmental Health.
