BSC (HONS) ADULT NURSING
Eligible applicants can apply for a means tested bursary and to have their fees paid. Please visit NHS Student Grants for more information.
If you're applying via UCAS, find out more about how your qualifications fit into the UCAS tariff.
Satisfactory health and pre-entry criminal history checks will be required prior to acceptance on the course. You are required to have a care experience in an adult health practice/clinical setting, such as an acute hospital or a nursing home.
Your UCAS personal statement should include:
1) How you have researched the profession of adult health nursing.
2) Examples of how you have worked with vulnerable adults or worked within settings such as hospitals or nursing homes.
3) How you have gained insight into the course e.g. Open days or speaking to nurses.
4) Your personal qualities which you feel are related to nursing, including what motivates you to choose nursing as a career.
You must also be able to demonstrate how you meet the NMC Key Competencies through the application process. These competencies determine the basic skills required for nursing in numeracy, communications, physicality, relationships and IT skills.
All applicants who meet the entry criteria will be put forward for random selection. This means that even though you meet the entry criteria you may not be offered a place. Random selection will take place in the weeks commencing 12th December and 20th February. There is an essential requirement that randomly selected applicants must attend a selection day and these will be held on 19th January and 21st March. This session will include a small group exercise, and a short IT/literacy test and a numeracy test. Performance at the selection day will determine whether you are made an offer.
Eligible applicants can apply for a means tested bursary and to have their fees paid. Please visit NHS Student Grants for more information.
We welcome applications from those studying the Advanced Diploma qualifications and will consider them as an entry requirement for our undergraduate courses. Requirements for individual courses may vary, and specific subjects and grades may be required. Please contact our Admissions Office for more information.
