Benefits of studying this course
The Faculty of Health & Social Sciences has a long history of providing postgraduate courses in health and social care. Specifically the Advanced Practice (previously named Nurse Practitioner) course is well established and a central area of provision. Its name change reflects the contemporary and inter-professional nature of the course. Whilst it remains mostly senior nurses who study with us, there is growing interest from allied health professionals.
The knowledge, skills and attitude that you develop through undertaking this course will offer you the opportunity to consider advanced practice in significant depth whilst further developing 'value-added' personal development and academic skills. These include areas that you will utilise within your future working environments such as critique, analysis, clinical reasoning, communication, consultation, team working and time management.
