About Your Course
With the transition from Radio and TV broadcasting to YouTube and other social network forums, you the consumer, can become the producer of broadcast media. The future of technological development is enabling a different approach to creating broadcasting content. This course will encourage you to engage in live broadcasts and take on production roles, creating podcasts and editing video material that you have created yourself.

You can take a look at some of our students' work which was displayed at our Creative Technology Undergraduate Showcase 2012 - an opportunity to exhibit your final projects to the general public and industry professionals.

Your Future
Opportunities
You will develop production content in a fit for purpose broadcasting and radio studio with facilities for live edits of your material. We will give you the skills to use graphics and visual construction to communicate material appropriately with regards to branding and audience understanding. You will learn to anticipate and respond to current local and global changes in broadcasting needs.

Opportunities will arise to work with Yorkshire Television, BBC Big Screen, Leeds Met Students' Union TV and the New Technology Institute media training facility on collaborative projects and development of your professional skills.
Future Career
Large broadcasting companies such as the BBC and Yorkshire TV need skilled graduates to take up careers as studio managers, video editors, sound editors, electronic news gatherers, and radio, TV and web broadcasters.

This course will provide you with the necessary experience to apply for a range of jobs in the broadcasting sector. There are wider opportunities locally for marketing and public sector roles in communications departments of large organisations, developing radio, TV and web broadcasting media for external and internal public relations.

The tuition fee for the year for students entering in 2013/14 is £8750. The amount you will pay may increase each year to take into account the effects of inflation.
