About Your Course
The CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing is ideal for marketeers who are concerned with managing the marketing process at an operational level, as well as those who are looking to build on the knowledge gained at Professional Certificate level with a future marketing management role in mind. The content of the course has been put together following consultation with employers to ensure you gain relevant competencies for various stages of your marketing career.
The CIM Professional Diploma employs a variety of teaching and learning strategies including lectures, small-group discussion and seminar presentations. You are required to read prescribed texts in advance and to engage in critical discussion led by a tutor who is expert in the field. The course is primarily aimed at marketeers responsible for managing the marketing process at an operational level, those moving into a mid-level marketing position and those who are looking to build on knowledge gained at certificate level.

Marketing Planning Process
This provides a detailed understanding of marketing planning and its links with the delivery of marketing strategy. It also assesses the dynamic and complex nature of the marketing environment and its impact on developing plans to achieve strategic outcomes and competitive advantage.
Managing Marketing
The focus of this unit is developing the marketer as a manager, including giving them the knowledge and understanding required to develop and manage the marketing infrastructure and the organisation's talent development, capability and capacity.
Delivering Customer Value through Marketing
This focuses on the development and execution of marketing activities that have been designed to achieve customer satisfaction and meet organisational objectives, through effective marketing mix strategies which deliver stakeholder value.
Project Management for Marketing
This unit will focus on the proactive development and delivery of a justified management process to support the initiation, implementation and control of marketing projects, including the use of research and information and preparing proposals to identify needs.

Assessment
Students will submit two assignments in December and one assignment in June, as well as one examination in June.

Requirements: Applicants for the Professional Diploma are required to have at least one of the following: a Business or Marketing-related UK Bachelors honours degree or UK Masters Degree (or equivalent) where a minimum of one third of the credits come from Marketing (i.e. 120 credits in Bachelor degrees or 60 credits with Masters degrees or a CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing.

Applicants whose first language is not English, with certificated qualifications, professional qualifications and/or appropriate work experiences will be considered. Applicants may be required to undertake additional English language courses. The University provides excellent support for such students.

Higher fees apply for ELQ students. You may be an ELQ student if you already have a BA/BSc and want to enrol on another
Bachelors level course; if you already have an MA/MSc and want to enrol on a Bachelors level course OR if you already
have an MA/MSc and want to enrol on another taught Masters level course.
